Welcome back to James W. Hill! I am very excited about teaching students throughout the school this year. Throughout this year your son/daughter will get the chance to listen to, perform, and create music.
The grade 6, 7,and 8 students will all be taking instrumental music. These students are encouraged to sign out the instrument that they will be playingfor personal practice and development. In order to be allowed to take instruments from school students will need to complete an instrument loan form.
Should your son or daughter want to rent their own instrument/ purchase their own reeds for practicing at home or they are interested in any other music accessories/personal music they can be purchased from either:

This year we aregoing to offer a wide variety of musical extracurricular options. Starting atthe beginning of the school year we are excited to offer: a choir for studentsin grades 1 through 4, concert band for grades 7 and 8 students, Jazz band forgrades 7 and 8 students, a choir for grades 5 – 8, as well as our holiday musical for grades 1 through 6 students. Starting in January we will also begin tooffer a band for grade 6 students. Rehearsal times and dates will be provided at a later date on Miss Jones’ website. All of these groups will have opportunities to perform throughout the year, are a great ways to get involved at school aswell as develop their music skills.
I will be available for students who would like extra help or to practice theirinstruments at school, on Tuesday, first nutrition break, or by request. If parents have any questions please feel free to contact me.
