The LEAP program’s intended outcomes are to provide an experiential and project based learning to meet the varied learning styles of students. The skills acquired during the year will assist the student in selecting a pathway commensurate with their abilities. It will also focus on preparing students for success in grade 9 by promoting re-engagment in school, basic skill development in numeracy and literacy, development of social skills through collaborative learning opportunities, use of technology to support skills acquisition where appropriate, and develop positive self-esteem as a learner. Students in the program will be able to earn up to 4 credits towards their OSSD.
