A student who may be appropriate for the program may exhibit some or all of the following characteristics:
- Disengaged learner in traditional classroom setting
- Behind academically (gaps in knowledge) particularly in literacy and/or numeracy skills
- Difficulty with learning skills
- Likely to take Locally developed or Applied courses at high school
- Often receiving accommodations or on modified programming (IEP not a requirement)
- May have difficulty with social interactions
- May be experiencing frustration tied to learning challenges
